This book has it all, funny stories, training lessons, dog psychology, and training supplies and advice. It also warns and informs the reader from hazards that small dog owners may face. A++++
Very helpful! October 2, 2004 Avid Reader (New York, USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
We recently adopted a small terrier mix from the local shelter. Since she's our first dog, we have been consulting many books for advice. This one has proven to be one of the very best we've found. Jester's style is personal and frank. She covers all sorts of issues and I have found her insights into the "whys" of dog behavior very helpful. I was especially grateful for her listing of the different stages a dog goes through after it joins a new family. They were right on target!
The Best "Small Dog" book July 20, 2000 Thomas Mosley (Midwest City, OK USA) 22 out of 26 found this review helpful
Living with Small and Toy Dogs, has the answer to almost any "small dog" problem. It makes people look at every thing in the dogs point of view. This book has every thing from what kind of equipment to use, to dog obedience, to formal training. It also has many solutions to the dogs aggression toward people, children, animals, and other dogs. All of the examples of things that people should do while training their small dog, helped me understand why I need to do different things while training. The examples also proved they were necessary. This is the best "small dog" book.
