The Health-o-Meter HDC100-01 "Grow with Me" Teddy Bear Scale is a first-of-its kind consumer baby and toddler scale. As your child grows, the scale easily converts from a tray to a platform, making this a versatile and cost-effective device for weighing your child as he develops from a newborn to a toddler.The large, easy-to-read 1.2-inch LCD display is front-facing so reading the weight is a breeze. Also, for added accuracy with small children, the scale weighs in half-pound increments up to 60 pounds. Calibration is a snap with a "zero out" feature that allows you to adjust for the weight of clothing or a diaper. The scale can be operated with or without the tray. When using the tray, make sure that it is securely locked into place before placing your baby on the scale. Simply lay your baby on the tray and read the display. To use the scale without the tray, you'll need to remove the tray by turning the locking nut clockwise. The tray is replaced by four rubber plugs and a supplied plastic cover tab. Once the cover is in place, hold your baby upright on the scale, and place the baby's feet so that the weight is evenly distributed. Of course, everyone knows that a baby rarely holds still. Health o Meter has an answer. If your child is moving, press the "Hold" button to lock in the correct weight. This function displays the baby's average weight for the time period.

Place the scale on flat, level surface. A hard surface, such as a tile or linoleum floor, is the best for maximum accuracy. If the scale is placed on a soft, deep rug, then it may not produce accurate results. Once the scale is placed on an appropriate surface, press On/Off and wait for the display to show zeros. If the display shows "0:0", the scale is set to pounds/ounces; if the display shows "0.00" the scale is set to kilograms/grams. Press the lb/kg button to select between pounds or kilograms. Great product June 23, 2008
This scale is perfect for weighing my baby and makes a first time mom feel better knowing her baby is gaining weight properly. It has a hold feature for when the baby won't stay still as well as a button that subtracts the weight of a diaper,blanket, etc.. for a more accurate reading. I weighed my baby the morning of her doctor's visit and it showed the same weight as the doctor's scale, so it is accurate.
Not just for two leggers June 18, 2008
Bought the scale to weigh my 24 lb. cat as he loses weight. Cat weight loss needs to be slow and measured in ounces not pounds like people. Very accurate and the hold button is a great feature. Would definitely recommend this product. It may seem a bit spendy at first---Well worth the money for accurate weight. P.S. Last weigh in was 21.1 lbs.

Extremely happy with this purchase. I am breastfeeding and wanted to make sure that my baby was gaining the proper amount of weight. This scale not only works great, but is very accurate when compared to the results I get from the scale used at my doctors. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have a cat that suddently stopped eating on its own. I need to track its weight daily. This scale is perfect for my needs, as it weighs in 1/2 ounce increments, and the hold feature makes it possible to get an accurate reading on an animal that really doesn't want to be there! It also gives the same reading as my vet's scale, so I am confident of its accuracy.
Accurate scale May 16, 2008
We bought this to weigh both my newborn and toddler on. It is very accurate and we like it a lot. We got ours for $60, I guess the price went up a bit. The only gripe I have about this scale is that it is hard to figure out my toddler's weight because he moves so much and the weight reading doesn't stabilize. I've seen some baby scales with an "averaging" feature -- the scale will rest on a number and the number will read out on the screen. My active 2 year old moves so much that the numbers bounce up and down and it is impossible to know his actual weight (unless he is calm - a rarity)
