Coping with anxiety November 16, 2008 Liliana Goldfain (USA) The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook by Edmund J Bourne is a valuable therapeutic tool for people who are willing to follow its lessons to improve their mood. I bought it for somebody in my family who suffers from anxiety and occasional panic attacks but I have used it for fifteen years with very good results in my clinical work with patients. I strongly recommend this valuable resource for learning skills to overcome the debilitating symptoms of anxiety.
Comprehensive October 13, 2008 Gsp (London, UK) Excellent...Comprehensive. Every approach worth considering that I know of is covered and many more...and coherently put together, not just a jumble of unrelated techniques. Only reason I haven't given it the full 5 stars is because I haven't been putting it into practice yet, and so can't unequivocably vouch for the results yet.
Real help is in this book October 5, 2008 Universelle (Washington, DC USA) Very comprehensive and detailed description on many aspects of dealing with anxiety and phobia. From physical and mental, all the explanations, the exercises and workshops, and the advice and examples will help you get back on the road to recovery. Book recommended by psychologists.
Worked better than local Doctors September 20, 2008 Nature Girl (Madison, CT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book was a life saver!!! We had brought our son to several Doctors, tried some medications and were getting no where. What finally helped us and our son was the social worker at my sons' school, and this book. If you follow what this book tells you to do to get through full blown panic attacks and anxiety, it will work. I had bought several books before this one, that were absolutely worthless. This is the only book you need to learn helpful techniques to work through your anxiety. This book changed our sons life. He is a happy, healthy boy again. He feels empowered, because now when he feels a panic attack coming on he has coping strategies that work for him.
excellent book September 14, 2008 Corinne Pearson (NYC) The axiety and phobia book. Im still reading it. Its a great reassurance book. Keeps it in your mind that when your having anxiety and feel like your gonna die.. your actually not. And its perfectly normal and healthy for your body to do those things. I love the book so far!
