Watched Cesar on TV, enjoyed his program. The book is good, but a lot of repeating of his shows.

I had never even heard of this guy before I got this book. So i wan't expecting much at first, I just wanted to find a good dog training book and the ratings were high. When i first started reading the book I was a little skeptical and the mother hold on the neck took a while to get used to. But I kept with the book and finished it in 2 days. It really helped me understand how dogs see things and gave me a different prespective on being dominat towards a dog. You don't have to be mean to be dominant or be the pack leader. This was a great read and now im actually interested in seeing the dog whiperer.

2 out of 5 stars Just a repeat of the first book   April 8, 2008

I enjoyed the fist Cesar book "Cesar's Way" and was looking forward to this book being more practical instruction, which he says it is in the beginning. Well it is a repeat of the first book with new stories of how other people have amazing dogs now. He doesn't explain how to be calm assertive, or what that looks like. He just tells you to "be calm assertive". I was looking for more practical application. And when to use it. I like his ideas but I need to know how to apply them to my life. So I recommend the first book for some eye opening philosophy. But you can skip this one.

5 out of 5 stars BE THE PACK LEADER   March 24, 2008
Ms. K. Moore (Australia)
This book should be a must read for any person who has a dog or is thinking of getting a dog. As an obedience instructor I find 99% of the problems are human related not dog related and all becuase there has been no pack structure established in the household. This book outlines some very simple solutions to everyday problems and how to establish the respect required to live in harmony with our dogs.

I love the Babying Bandit first line where he states that there haven't been any cases on "Dog Whisperer" where he thought he couldn't help the dog but there have been a handful of cases where he could not help the owner. I still laugh about this line as it is very very true.
A great book for any dog person.
