Not a 'dummie' anymoreMarch 22, 2007 Jeff Bajorek(Pennsylvania, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love yorkies. I have never owned one but someday I desire to. I bought this book because I tried to be as informed as possible before heading into something. This book shows key tips for yorkie owning. There are some suprising ones in there - such as the fact they prefer to sleep in smaller cages at night versus roaming free around the house. Also the house breaking tips were very informative. A must read for anyone desiring the company of the yorkshire terrior (though a lot of information in here could go universially for any dog - such as spraying the nose with dilluted vinegar water when they bark versus yelling at them for barking). Worth the money. Worth the stars! * * * * *
Great advice for a novice!August 21, 2006 H Rooke(California) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This book was helpful because I have always owned large dogs. There are a lot of differences with the size of dog you buy. I liked her housing breaking tricks and have found the book very easy to read.

I was considering getting a Yorkie for awhile so I bought this book to better inform myself. It is so full of information and it is written so that anyone can understand it (Dummies!?) It definitley helped me make the decision to get my precious Yorkie. So much of the info in this book was the same stuff that the breeder told me. So many things it tells you to expect are exactly what happened. For example, it tells you what to do before you bring home your puppy. Like getting it a blanket and a cuddle toy. My Yorkie looks for his blanket and his stuffed elephant everytime he is ready to lay down! It continues to be a big help with training. I recommend it for sure!
