Dog Fanatic November 16, 2000 Raphael Bentz (Brooklyn, NY USA) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
This book is excellent for basic and advance obedience training. The intstructions are exact and precise. You will get results not matter how old or type of dog you have, as long as you follow directions as instructed in the book. You might find some of the techniques a little severe but the results are undeniable. I have used this book for my own dog and gave instructions based on this book...I have had nothing but good results.
Two-in-one book of dog training May 27, 2000 vic nicolas (middle east) 20 out of 22 found this review helpful
I'm a professional dog trainer, training dogs mostly for obedience and occasionally for protection work. I found Mr. Koehler's dog book a rare book of so many straight-forward, no nonsense very effective methods of dog training. His throw-chain method is, I think the signature part of his obedience training. He is one of the best I guess. I rate his book 5 star. If you want a fast, effective, and long lasting dog training, try his book. You'll be thankful you did.
good, but not for first-timers July 1, 1999 8 out of 11 found this review helpful
Koehler is a good dog trainer and teacher, but this book shouldn't be taken off the shelf under the belief that a first-time dog owner can turn their puppy into a "man-stopper." It wouldn't be fair for the dog, nor the owner...

Best training method ever February 4, 1999 17 out of 19 found this review helpful
As a former law enforcement dog trainer of loss prevention and detection dogs, I have found Sir William Koehler's method of dog training completely reliable. Reliability is a must in my field of work. Currently, I am successfully competing in the obedience trials with a black Labrador Retriever, consistently scoring the 190's mark at every trial. I have classes attended by different age groups with different abilities and all breeds of dog. The result is always RELIABILITY! A recommended method to anyone who values this.Peter Mario
