Good book January 26, 2008 JBP (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The book offers a great basic understanding and scheduling for training. The most valuable part of the book is the schedules the author offers for various working/non-working owners.
this worked for us January 5, 2008 Sam P (ny) we used this book seven years ago to train our mutt. we did it in conjuction with an obedience class - it really worked for us. rarely do we have a mishap (usually caused by excitement) - our dog is just amazing and we feel like this book helped. you must follow what it says - and be on top of the situation for the 7 days. getting a dog is fun, but it is work work work. you must have the time for your pet to train it. its is worthwhile and wonderful.

I was kind of disappointed by this book because it didnt tell me anything that I didnt know already. The one thing that I did learn was that you cant really potty train a dog until its 4 months old because it doesnt have bladder control...which I actually read in another book later. Honestly, the best way to potty train your dog is to leave him/her for a weekend with a friends dog that is already potty trained. They learn things from a pack so much more quickly then they do from you. My dog used to go in the house at least 2 times a day, I went out of town and left her with my friend who also has a dog and she came back scratching the door when she needed to go. That following week she only went one time in the house, it was AMAZING. Sorry...a bit of a tangent, but thought some people may find it helpful. All in all...skip the book and just google your info youll learn everything thats in this book.
7-day puppy housebreaking book October 10, 2007 Angela M. Horton (Atlanta, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did like this book but I just wasn't able to housebreak my puppy in 7 days. My puppy had already been trained to urinate on potty papers in the house and it was going to take some time to re-train him to go outside. Plus it would be a lot of work on my part. I read through the whole book in about an hour and it has a lot of good advice on how to train and re-train your puppy to be housebroken. Angela M. Horton
A must have! September 16, 2007 Richelle Long (Huntington Beach, CA) I have had many dogs, but never a puppy, so I was worried about the housebreaking process. If you follow this book, your puppy will be housebroken! I highly recommend this to any dog owner that needs help in housebreaking!
