A must read for anyone who loves dogs! July 31, 2006 Donna Carollo (California) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Cesar offers great practical advice which provides quick results. You will gain a closer bond with your dog almost immediately by giving him what he needs most: exercise, and demonstrating that you are the pack leader. Today, I spend less time kissing my two Maltese and more time walking them....and they seem healthier and more content than ever. Thank you Cesar.
Not just for dog's with problems July 29, 2006 Tracy S. (Niagara Falls, NY) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
We've had a new puppy for 3 months when I caught an episode of Cesar's program on TV. The next day I looked to see if there was a book on his philophy. I immediately ordered this book and I was not disappointed. Being a new dog owner, this book opened my eyes on how not to raise a dog. I totally agree that a dog is a dog first and not a human and should be treated that way. Excellent and enjoyable reading.
I can't give negative stars July 29, 2006 RenoDogmom (Sparks, NV) 20 out of 49 found this review helpful
BS. Cesar Milan is the National Enquirer of dog behavior. You might find something true here, but you have to wade through a lot of BS. I'd read Jean Donaldson's "The Culture Clash" and find a good positive reinforcement trainer. Using force on your dog teaches him to fear you, nothing more. You can achieve the same results and have a happier dog with other methods.
Cesar's Way is Nature's Way July 27, 2006 J. Isorena (Manila, Philippines) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
Aside from providing me with a better understanding of my dogs, this book also teaches some great lessons on leadership and how nature wires it into dogs and other animals. The book is actually an easy read and is written in a way that you can almost hear Cesar talking. I suppose that's because I bought it along with the DVD of the entire first season of Dog Whisperer, another great buy!
Worth Reading July 26, 2006 doggal (PacNW) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I liked this book. I have three dachshunds -- they're easily out-of-control when people come to our door! This book explains dogs' point of view; compares it to human thinking. It's also full of interesting stories from Cesar's varied experiences. I found it to be good training for my approach towards my dogs' behaviors, and gaining some control. And now I understand them more fully.
