CANT DESCRIBE ITS GREATNESS June 26, 1999 Platoon is the most powerful and dramatic War film of all time. I cant believe how much this movie rules. Its the greatest War film since Apocalypse Now. If you havent seen Platoon then you havent seen anything. Its an amazing and truthful film that goes all the way......and more!
A movie that will shadow all others of its kind for decades June 20, 1999 Platoon is an incredable movie that shows all aspects of war, at it's best and worst. This movie is so historicly accurate and moving that it will touch anyone to the point that they buy this fine feature film. I did..
An excellent look into the "real" Vietnam! June 19, 1999 "Platoon" is a dramatic movie that truly portrays what life was like in Vietnam and the hell that the men went through daily. I would recommend it to anyone seeking a great Vietnam War film.
This is a must have DVD June 18, 1999 The film does have some historical inaccuracies, such as so many events happening to one platoon. Even so, it is one of the closest representations I can imagine of Vietnam. Since the events in Platoon represent what any given platoon could have gone through; the film works to give us a good overview of the kind of things that happened in that conflict. Having noted that, I would recommend the DVD version because of the extras you get. Dale Dye's narration alone is worth the price. The film is shown in it's entirety, the narration running along with the film and giving extra little bits of information. Pretty cool. It is too lengthy to get into all the details here, but if you have a chance to view this DVD, you will understand my enthusiasm.
