Kidnapping, Arson and Murder, Fast-Paced & Very Good August 30, 2008 Vesta Irene (the Pacific Northwest) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Woman's Murder Club is made up of Detective Lindsay Boxer, Assistant D.A. Yuki Castellano, Medical Examiner Claire Washburn and Reporter Cindy Thomas, so when these girls sink their teeth into a crime in San Francisco, Criminal lookout. In this outing popular and well liked Michael Campion, son of the past Governor of California has been kidnapped. We learn fairly soon that hooker Junie Moon was present when Michael was killed, but did she do it? Meanwhile some guys named Pidge and Hawk are burning down the houses of the wealthy, while the wealthy are still in them, and that'll get the attention of the SFPD real quick, crispy rich people. So there you have the crimes the gals are going to dig into when you dig into this fast paced book (and the pace is made even faster by Mr. Patterson's short chapters: 376 pagers cut up into a whopping 125 chapters. You can do the math, they're short.) I read the book in one sitting, just couldn't put it down.
7th Heaven August 25, 2008 Charles W. Mccauley (Ashburn, VA) I like that the chapters are short and well written. There is always the twists and turns that keep you interested in the book.
For Lonely Hearts August 16, 2008 Mystery Mike (Philadelphia PA) I am a big Patterson fan, and liked the first couple of books in this series. But more and more it seems like a cheap Romance novel and not a mystery. I find the plots more contrived and not as interesting. This will be the last in this series that I purchase, I find the things I don't like being emphasized more and more, at the cost of having a good mystery.
I Like it! Good read for series junkies! August 5, 2008 Naomi Sullivan (Annapolis) I love this series - I give it 5 stars! This book is a great addition, I like that Lindsay's character has been developing and moves along in 7th Heaven. When I first read the jacket cover I hoped he was not going to turn the series into a Stephanie Plum read-a-like! The characters are strong and I would hate to see the books get hung up on Lindsay getting married or not - she can be married and the series will only get stronger. Can't wait to see what "the girls" are up to next JP - bring on 8!
Good but could've been better! July 30, 2008 RhodeIslandBigMouth I agree with other Patterson readers, plot was OK but it could've been better. Boxer with Conklin?? Please!! I don't think so. I was disappointed with this book, and lately with the Alex Cross ones. Hopefully Patterson's next book Cross or WMC is put together better, and not leaving me feel so "BLAH".
