Double Trouble March 17, 2008 As always we are confronted with some strange characters. But this time we get a double. One currently in jail and well known by Alex and the other a equal in insanity. We are assured for a strange and blood cooling ride as we read this novel, as all the others he has the ability to put us in the minds of these maniacs. Just so that we feel they are real people. I highly recommend this book and will look forward to the next.
Pfffffftttt...........! March 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pffffttt.....the sound of a bomb ticking incessantly and then not going off. This was the same old, same old....but with a really, really lame ending. I love Alex Cross, but another new girl friend? Can't this man find a good woman? I think he's been playing the field long enough. I'm sorry. I'm getting tired of Alex getting all stirred up over someone only to lose them - over and over again - and we don't know what happened to Bree - will she appear again when the villain, Kyle Craig, returns? Return he will, because Alex didn't wrap him up the way we all hoped he would. Being promised two psychopathic killers, I really expected two brought to justice. I miss being left with an "aha" feeling, and some satisfaction with the way the story ends. I feel robbed this time - robbed of the time I spent reading the book.
Not one of his best March 12, 2008 I am a huge fan of James Patterson but this was not one of his best. I was able to get into but it was bogged down by quickie story plots that resolved themselves by the next page(Damian running away and another plot point at the end of the book that took a little longer). If you enjoy Patterson, then head to the Women's Murder Club. That is a great series to get involved with.
I like them all! March 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a new Patterson reader, and am really trying to read them in order - but it is so hard.... I liked this story. A little out there of course, but good reading.
Disappointing March 7, 2008 I've been huge fan of the Alex Cross books since I first started reading them a few years ago. James Patterson put a lof of thought and effort into them. I'm sure I was not the only one that got hooked. This book was not the same for me. It seemed like Patterson got distracted at the end of this book and just wrote a quick, crappy ending. It was good up until the last 40 pages or so. I would recommend reading this book if you've read the rest of the series, just to keep up since it is a quick read. If you're not familiar with the series, start at the beggining, it'll be a better use of your time.
