5 out of 5 stars Alex is Back!   February 8, 2008

I truly love the Alex Cross character of James Patterson. I can't wait to find out what mischief his former associate will have for him in the next installment. Keep them coming!

5 out of 5 stars A psychotic killer craves an audience for his acts   February 6, 2008

Patterson's DOUBLE CROSS is also a winner, pairing a dual narration by Peter Jay Fernandesz, a New York based actor, with Micahel Stuhlbarg, a Julliard attendee, who together provide a hard-hitting drama. A psychotic killer craves an audience for his acts, while a competitor is a brilliant killer who works alone. The two are after the same detective - Alex Cross. Can he survive a double web of two very different approaches to murder?

3 out of 5 stars Lousy ending for such a page-turner!!   February 5, 2008

I was really into the book until I got to the ending and I just tossed the book on the floor muttering to myself, "What a lousy ending!". The build up in the tension and the murders between Kyle Craig & DCAK was admirable as was the background on your main players...a very detailed book. It's clear that Patterson will undoubtedly write a sequel to this..that's why the ending was so infuriating. To be quite honest, I've seen Patterson close a book with a much more satisfying ending in the recent past but this one only got an "OK" from me. Happy Reading all!!

5 out of 5 stars I thought it was great!   February 3, 2008

Of course James Patterson uses a tried and true method in writing this book. That is what makes the entire 12 book series great. We are keeping up with the lives of his family and friends. We are seeing Alex Cross at his best. If you are into books that have great character development, read the Alex Cross Series by James Patterson. it is some great reading.

3 out of 5 stars fast-paced thriller... almost to the end   February 2, 2008
Evan S. Nelson (Southern California)
The latest episode in the Cross series is fast-paced, and tense... for the majority of the book. I felt like the ending was anti-climactic. The ending seemed very abrupt. It was almost as if Patterson was writing the book to be 450 pages, but then at the last second got tired of writing and ended it at 390 instead. But don't worry, there was enough there to continue the series.

I will say this though, I was entertained throughout and don't regret reading it... It just wouldn't go on my top 10 list.
