No More! November 25, 2007 He is the princpal at the worst High School in the area. And the students get raped, beatten, everyone is smoking or taking somthing. All he asks is no more! Great movie........
No learning at this school September 15, 2007 A fun movie, even though it's unlikely. This school has so many problems, it would be closed down immediately. They should have the National Guard in every classroom, teachers with tear gas, metal detectors, etc.. No parent would allow their kids to attend. But this is 1987 when even principals smoked in the halls.
THE PRINCIPAL Grades High Even 20 Years Later September 6, 2007 The film centers upon a down-on-his-luck principal who has been hired to turn around a troubled school - which was the subject of many films at the time of its release. However, the trouble this school faced wasn't low math scores. Guns, gangs, rapists, and teen pregnancies were the issues that this principal faced. I remember thinking at the time that some of the scenes (though tension filled and dramatic) were a bit over-the-top. However, due to recent events on the news, the film doesn't seem that illogical after all.
The acting in the film is spectacular from all involved and there are just enough light moments to not make the movie entirely depressing. It's Jim Belushi, after all! Like DIGGSTOWN, the ending will unexpectedly grab you. Don't be surprised if you end up adding THE PRINCIPAL to your collection.
Excellence in movie making July 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Principle is a riviting, edge of your seat kind of movie. It was well written, and the actors do their part very well. It goes to show that not all kids are bad, some are just in bad situations. If someone cares enough to help, it can go a long way in improving someone's life. This is a must see movie.
Hard hitting drama....according to Jim. May 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Jim Belushi certainly has made a contribution to prime time television but this movie proves his dramatic abilities. He stands up against the drug dealers in his school.. First rate acting and a good story. Must see for everyone!
