Product Description Xander cage is an extreme sports athelete recruited by the government on a special mission. Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 07/19/2005 Starring: Vin Diesel Samuel L Jackson Run time: 124 minutes Rating: Pg13
Amazon.com Vin Diesel is no James Bond, and he doesn't want to be. That's why XXX announced Diesel as the adrenalin-junkie Bond of the PlayStation generation, copying the Bond formula so shamelessly that this action-packed silliness would be a Bond movie if it starred Pierce Brosnan. Reuniting Diesel with his Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen, XXX has an attitude (if not a brain) all its own, plucking Diesel's Xander Cage from his celebrity as an extreme sports renegade, recruited by a National Security Agency big shot (Samuel L. Jackson) to foil a nasty Czech villain (Marton Csokas) who's eager to depopulate Prague with remote-controlled biological weaponry. Toss in a sulky, sultry Russian agent (Asia Argento) and you've got extreme Bond-age for anyone who thinks tuxedos are passé. With a handful of eye-popping action sequences, XXX launched a movie franchise with a cool guy, another cool muscle car, and plenty of box-office sizzle. --Jeff Shannon

It's Just An Action Movie People! November 1, 2008 B. Gatlin Now, i've just read a lot of bad reviews of this film, & some good points have been taken. But seriously - you knew this was an action movie when you went into the theatre! Mindless - guilty. Unbelievable - definitely. Boring - NO. The stunts are great, it's got funny (and dumb) 1 liners from the hero, & it's got the hot girl for the hero. Everything that makes action movies good, right? Before you condemn this movie for it's cliches, take a look at some of the other action movies you clame to like. Oh, & have any of the Bond movies been intellectual - could he really fit all that junk is his friggin' wrist watch?
HORRIBLE October 21, 2008 Reviewer 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a Vin fan who just suffered through this pile of garbage. What a lousy movie. Vin is much better than this. No wonder he passed on part II. Bad acting all around. Laughable action. Lame touching moments. This is lipstick on a pig. Avoid it. This should be more embarassing to Vin than his clips on youtube of him breakdancing as a teenager. A horrible movie.
They throw him out of an air plane and he likes it? August 24, 2008 R. Bagula (Lakeside, Ca United States) This guy can fly a motorcycle? Staying alive is passing the test? He has a wise attitude, tattoos and a shaved head, but he seems to be pretty fearless too. So he falls for a hot Gothic Euro-Babe and then, he is really in trouble! As a secret agent trying to save the lady in distress he is now a hero instead of just another punk. This movie was a success because it is funny. All the paperwork that goes into being a government employee and they draft a misfit...
PG-13 action at it's best April 1, 2008 Derrick Dunn (Woodbridge,VA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
XXX is clearly one of the best PG-13 action movies of 2002. The film is full of amazing stunts, action sequences and one-liners. Vin Disel should have been the new action star of the millenium. While XXX should been his second franchise following Pitch Black sadly it wasn't and we lost a new action star on our hands in the form of Disel. It would have been nice to see the action movie posters saying Disel on top of the title in films such as XXX2, Hitman and A History Of Violence but oh well.
007 comes to America! March 18, 2008 William Knights (Ca, USOA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This movie is awesome! OK, imagine this, OK, a stuntman, arrested and called into the FBI to defuse a bomb and end a nuclear crisis on a global scale; I for one think that THAT plot, had Ian Flemming come up with it first (which, who knows, could've been the story on his mind before he left), would've been a brilliant Bond movie plot. This version fairly amazed me, though, in a sense that all the deleted scenes from the other version were, unfortunately, added to the film, but brilliantly placed. Thus, giving the second disc a purpose, with special features such as 'The Death Of Xander Cage,' a somewhat sorry (but fullfilling) explanation to the sad no-show of Vin Diesel in X2: State Of The Union, and also includes the music video to 'Adrenaline,' the end credits sequence... without the end credits (which still confuses me, too), and a lot more! IT WAS AWESOME!!!
