Captain Jack s the last of the nine Pirate Lords of the Brethren Court who must come together united in one last stand to preserve the freedom-loving pirates way of life. From exotic Singapore to World s End and beyond from Shipwreck Island to a titanic battle this adventure s filled with over-the-edge action irreverent humor and seafaring myth and magic. Everything has led to this twisting turning wild swashbuckling ride in this final chapter of the Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogyFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: ACTION/ADVENTURE UPC: 786936292992 Manufacturer No: 4099003
Amazon.com Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is a rollicking voyage in the same spirit of the two earlier Pirates films, yet far darker in spots (and nearly three hours to boot). The action, largely revolving around a pirate alliance against the ruthless East India Trading Company, doesn't disappoint, though the violence is probably too harsh for young children. Through it all, the plucky cast (Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush) are buffeted by battle, maelstroms, betrayal, treachery, a ferocious Caribbean weather goddess, and that gnarly voyage back from the world's end--but with their wit intact. As always, Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow tosses off great lines ; he chastises "a woman scorned, like which hell hath no fury than!" He insults an opponent with a string of epithets, ending in "yeasty codpiece."! In the previous Dead Man's Chest, Sparrow was killed--sent to Davy Jones' Locker. In the opening scenes, the viewer sees that death has not been kind to Sparrow--but that's not to say he hasn't found endless ways to amuse himself, cavorting with dozens of hallucinated versions of himself on the deck of the Black Pearl. But Sparrow is needed in this world, so a daring rescue brings him back. Keith Richards' much ballyhooed appearance as Jack's dad is little more than a cameo, though he does play a wistful guitar. But the action, as always, is more than satisfying, held together by Depp, who, outsmarting the far-better-armed British yet again, causes a bewigged commander to muse: "Do you think he plans it all out, or just makes it up as he goes along?" As far as fans are concerned, it matters not. --A.T. Hurley

Not Your Typical Disney Feature............. May 14, 2008 Those in search of a happily ever after Disney Film must seek elsewhere. From the opening of the film with a young boy in chains chanting a haunting pirate songs, waiting for his execution. In his line others follow chorusing the lad, till their untimely, and barbaric punishments. Pirates is not recommended for young children for it's dark undertone. Character Davey Jones in particular is frightful, to say the least. His octopus like body, and horrifying facial features, could scare about anyone. Bony creatures, ghostly atmospheres on the high seas, fast paced swashbuckling, and disturbing settings leads viewers on a trip, they'll remember for a lifetime! Will you make it to World's End, or will you be the next Jack Sparrow? Davey Jones won't mind stealing your soul for all time!
ehhh.... okay.... May 9, 2008 To make it simple- This movie tried to introduce to many character to quickly and that is what almost ruined it for me. The end scenes were great though....
A WASTE of 3 hours!!!! May 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really couldn't believe that this movie is in the POC series. The first one was ok. The second one was tolerable, but this one just made me mad! I only watched the whole thing in hopes that it would get better but it only got worse with each passing minute. The story makes about as much sense as jumping out a plane with no parachute. The most horrible hour of a movie ever filmed was in this movie and unfortunately it is the last hour. I could go on and on about my complaints but I wasted enough time watching the movie.
Fun Movie April 25, 2008 Another fun movie with Johnny Depp . We have them all , the first one was great and now waiting for them to make another. Of course buying from Amazon is the only way to go. They make very easy.
Pepsi and Pirates April 25, 2008 I wanted this to go with my other two Pirates of the Caribbean DVDs but it was constantly sold out at Wally World, who had the best price, so I got this with the Pepsi Points Promo for free and received it within 5 days of ordering.
