For Dummies is Right! February 2, 2010 A. Sexton (Louisiana USA) Unless you know absolutely NOTHING about German Shepherds then I would not recommend buying this book. It gives only the most basic of knowledge, and in my opinion is not worth your time. Find a better book if you really want to learn about training or behavior!
A good German Shepherd back up January 31, 2010 Richard Kubala (Melbourne Australia) I love this straight forward book and its no nonsense approach to the owning of a German Shepherd dog.
Dummies are Great!!! January 28, 2010 HP (Bonanza, Oregon United States) I love the dummy books. This was a great read, easy to understand and very informative. I would recommend it to anyone with or thinking about getting a German Shepherd.
Pretty Basic Book January 20, 2009 Cmiddl01 (WV) This was a pretty basic dog training book and not necessarily targeted for GSDs. I understand that you can't categorize dog behavior by breed, but lets be realistic-GSD's are naturally protective and territorial. I wish that this book would have gotten into this a little more.
I did appreciate the information on the hip issues.
Great Book January 12, 2009 Robert B. Clarke Sr. (Denver, CO) I really enjoyed this book, full of good information. The best book on German Shepherds I have read so far.
